WCA Names Award Winners in Annual High School Awards Ceremony

Last week, Williamsburg Christian Academy recognized students who have achieved high levels of academic success, exhibited strong leadership traits, and showed the highest levels of spiritual character honoring to God.

Here were the students who received honors at the ceremony:

NAACP ACT-SO:

Each year the local chapter awards selected area high school students at a formal breakfast in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.  The purpose of their program is to recruit, stimulate and encourage high academic and cultural achievement among African-American high school students.  House of Delegates Member Brenda Pogge provided a letter to each of the following students congratulating them on their award:

Te’Daizhua Jones – 9th

Aquazia Jones – 12th grade

Isaac Davis – 12th grade

David Cook – 12th grade

 

ACSI Distinguished High School Student Award 

The Association of Christian School International provides awards on a yearly basis to students who excel in one of five areas.

The Academics Award is given to the students with a high GPA in their respective class.  This year’s recipients are:

The Leadership Award is presented to a student who is actively involved in community service or ministry related activities.  This year’s recipients are:

The Fine Arts Award is presented to a student who actively participates in art, music, drama, etc.  This year’s recipients are:

These awards are given to one student in each grade who has modeled excellent behavior throughout the school year.  These students represent Christ-like self-control, a balanced approach to student life including academics and behavior and are an example of what a school principal would describe as outstanding character and self-discipline.
