WCA Middle School Award Winners

On, May 4th, the faculty of our Middle school (6th-8th) held the end of year Middle School awards ceremony, to recognize various students for the excellence in academics, character traits, and conduct in the classroom honoring to God.

It was great to see all the students below receive awards, but what stood out most of all, as noted by Interim Assistant Head of School Jane Vaught, was the way in which all the students cheered and supported each other, whether they themselves had received an award or not.

The Jonathan award is given to a student who always exhibits genuine friendship and concern for classmates.

The David award is given to a student who consistently desires to do what pleases God.

The Joseph award is given to a student who has learned and lives an example of patience, endurance, and accomplishment.

The Joshua award is given to a student who has a positive effect on and actively participates in school activities.

Moses                           Jackson Conklin

The Moses award is given to a student who demonstrates patience, humility, and respect and uses his gifts to honor and glorify God.

Esther                           Laura Reese

The Esther award is given to a student who shows a reserved, modest, quiet, and humble spirit for the Lord.

Deborah                       Kailey Watson

The Deborah award is given to a student who follows Christ with a whole heart and shows unconditional obedience.

Lydia                            Sarah Newman

The Lydia award is given to a student who sets an example of breaking away from the crowd in order to do what honors Christ.

Joanna                         Chase Kelly

The Joshua award is given to a follower of Jesus who consistently sees to the needs of others.

Ruth                             Nandi Davis

The Ruth award is given to a student who Shows commitment and dedication to pursuing excellence for the Lord in academics and extra curriculars.

Principals Awards

This is given to students (one per grade) who have modeled Christ like behavior (in their spirit, attitude, kindness to others, and in their words). These students represent Christ-like self-control and a balanced approach to student life (both academic and behavioral). They are examples of what a school principal would describe as outstanding in their character and self-discipline. (*These students may not have any documented behavioral consequences for the entire school year, including before school detention)
