In response to a number of prospective volunteers wishing they had the ability to know in advance and sign up for New2You Thrift Store volunteer needs, WCA’s Development office has created a SignupGenius.com online sign-up form to help parent and students to view the volunteer activities and timeslots that the New2You Thrift Store has needs for.
New2You’s mission is to support Christian Education in Williamsburg. All of their proceeds come to Williamsburg Christian Academy as we build our school through scholarships. They also support other local non-profits with various inventory donations and supplies. In this school year alone, New2You has donated over $20,000 to WCA to supplement our Virginia EIS Scholarship Program, and athletic booster club program.
As every upper school student has a community service requirement in order to graduate, New2You is an excellent opportunity to volunteer and give back, while also being close by and convenient. The New2You Thrift store is located at 4500 John Tyler Highway in Williamsburg, and routinely needs assistance with certain cashier shifts, transporting items from estate sales, and reorganization of their warehouse space following pickups.
