WCA Lady Eagles take Runner up Honors at Phil Garmey Basketball Tourney

Congratulations to our Lady Eagle Varsity Basketball team that traveled to Lynchburg over the weekend to participate in the 1st Annual Phil Garmey Invitational tourney at Virginia Episcopal School.

The Eagles faced Virginia Episcopal School in the opening match-up and cruised to a 58-41 win to open their season.

Kaylee Boger had a game-high 19 points, which included five 3-pointers, Charnissa Chillers added 15 points for WCA, and Patricia Davie logged a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.

We finished as Tourney Runner-ups, after a loss to highly ranked Nansemond-Suffolk Academy in the Tourney Championship Game. Nissa Chillers was named to the All-Tourney Team.

The team competes in it’s home opener Tuesday at 6PM versus Norfolk Christian.
