Spiritual Life

In the hectic pace of today’s life, many Christian parents are concerned about providing their children with enough opportunities outside of school to learn about God. What a blessing that at WCA, the spiritual growth of students is intentionally nurtured and developed within each school day. The degree to which we envelop our students' daily lives is what we call 'Kingdom Education'.

Throughout every aspect of the educational experience at WCA, God’s word is rooted in the hearts of our students so that they may carry it with them for life.  Here, young people gain a solid understanding of the Bible and enjoy the freedom to openly pray, worship, and express their faith in a variety of ways including:

Bible Curriculum

Bible is integrated into every level of our school curriculum, even at the Diploma program level. Lessons are taught with a Biblical worldview, and culminate in specific courses in Old and New Testament, Christian WorldView, and classic Apologetics in the Upper School.

Praise and Worship

Grades K-5 start each day with a vibrant time of praise and worship,  during which students lift their voices to the Lord with well-loved songs.

Cultivating Christ-Centered Leaders (CCL)

Weekly chapel time for our upper school students presents messages that bring God’s word to life at an age-appropriate level.

Students-In-Service

Students-in-Service is part of our Service Learning Program at WCA. In this program, Upper School students perform a myriad of services for Lower School students, model service to our external communities for Lower School students, and facilitate multiple service events each school year with the Lower School. Students-in-Service takes place on the first Wednesday of each month starting in August.

Bible Study Groups

Our students are also often engaged in independent weekly Bible study groups from upper elementary grades through upper school.

Holy Celebrations

Our students participate in special times of worship through annual celebrations such as the Flowering of the Cross ceremony at Easter, a school-wide Christmas caroling and fellowship time, and a Christmas ceremony for Socks for Seniors, where students wrap donated socks for seniors in retirement homes that lack resources to provide them.

WCA's Bible education philosophy centers around a practical outworking of the Great Commission:

  • Salvation through a gospel-centered curriculum to provide each student the opportunity to encounter Christ through the study of the Word and fellowship with other believers in a small group setting
  • Discipleship of the heart and mind through study, prayer, and worship
  • Leadership through intergenerational mentorship, service projects in the community, missions, evangelism and apologetics (articulation of the faith)

"WCA does an excellent job integrating Christianity and faith throughout the entire educational program,  whether it's academics,  sports or community outreach. WCA truly provided the best investment we could have made in our children's education and reinforcement of Christian values."
