First week Middle and High School Chapel was an amazing experience! Read all about it here:

The first chapel of the school year ushered in a sweet and poignant truth about God’s amazing grace. Lorenzo Jackson from Liberty Baptist Church led the WCA family in praise to our God that just made you want to dance!

A period of worship time followed that settled our hearts and focused our thoughts on God alone. Students took rocks (the rock of offense) and laid them at the foot of the cross. Following this symbolic act, all students then pinned a piece of paper, symbolizing their sin, and nailed it to the cross.

Chapel leader Linda Taylor then led the students in a visual representation of God’s grace when she lit the paper in the cross, which burst into a brilliant flash of flame within a second….and then there was nothing….no paper, no residue, no sign that there was anything on the cross. God removes our sins, just as all those pieces of paper, and remembers them no more – we are forgiven!

Our students committed to keeping pure hearts and clean hands…short accounts with God…. to forgive quickly and to ask to be forgiven quickly. Our goal is Christ in us, and Christ ever-present and glorified at WCA.

Chapel closed with prayer and students gathered together, holding hands and singing, “They will know we are Christians by our love”.
