    WCA Basketball is back after its Division 3 State Championship Game appearance with 3 year starter Dexter Radcliffe leading the charge, as well as Senior point guard Kivinie Johnson, big man Jalen Vaughan, together with a strong supporting cast in a quest for another Metro Title!

Program Summary

Beginning at the JJV level and continuing through the JV and Varsity levels for both boys' and girls' sports, WCA’s athletic program will first and foremost honor and give glory to God in all we do. At the JJV and JV levels, our coaches endeavor to teach student athletes the fundamentals of the game in preparation for Varsity level play in years to come. Maintaining our commitment to excellence, we strive to foster a competitive environment with a major focus on good sportsmanship and excellent godly character on and off the court. 

Boys Varsity Basketball

  • 2017-2018: Metro Regular Season Champions, VISAA D3 State Runner-Up. 
  • 2016-2017: Metro Regular Season Champions, VISAA D3 State Champions. Cle'Von Greene VISAA D3 Player of the Year, DaShawn Cook D3 All State, 1st Team, Chester Makoi, All-State, 2nd Team. Coach Chris Brown named VISAA D3 Coach of the Year.
  • 2015-2016: Metro Regular Season Championship and the Metro Tournament Championship, VISAA State Semifinalist. Xavier Green was voted Metro Conference Player of the Year, with Andre Brown, Cle'Von Greene and Mike Duncan making All-Conference. Coach Chris Brown named VISAA D3 Coach of the Year.
  • 2014-2015: Metro Regular Season Championship and the Metro Tournament Championship, VISAA State Semifinalist. Xavier Green was voted Metro Conference Player of the Year, with Andre Brown and Mike Duncan making All-Conference.
  • The 2011-2012: State CHAMPIONS in Virginia Independent Schools (VISAA) Division 3.

Girls Varsity Basketball

  • 2015-2016: Metro Regular Season Championship and the Metro Tournament Championship; VISAA State Tournament Semi-Finals. Charnissa Chillers named the VISAA Division 3 Player of the Year, Armani Franklin named to VISAA Division 3 First Team All-State. 
  • 2014-2015: Metro Regular Season Championship and the Metro Tournament Championship; 2nd in the VISAA State Tournament. Charnissa Chillers, Kaylee Boger and Daizhua Jones were named to the All-Metro team, and Imani Bryant was named Metro Conference Player of the Year. Coach Donovan Bridgeforth was named Metro Conference Coach of the Year.
  • In the 2014-2015 season, WCA's Girls Varsity Basketball team won the Metro Regular Season Championship and the Metro Tournament Championship before finishing 2nd in the VISAA State Tournament. Charnissa Chillers, Kaylee Boger and Daizhua Jones were all named to the All-Metro team, and Imani Bryant was named Metro Conference Player of the Year. Coach Donovan Bridgeforth was named Metro Conference Coach of the Year.
  • 2012-2013: 1st in the Metro regular season and tournament, and 2nd in the VISAA State Tournament. John Perkins was named Metro Coach of the Year.
  • 2011-2012: Varsity Girls won the Metro Conference Regular Season and Tournament Championship before going on to win 2012 VISAA State Championship for Division 3.

JJV & JV Girls and Boys Basketball

  • 2015-2016: JJV Boys were winners of the Metro Conference JJV Tournament
  • 2012-2013: Our JJV Boys and JV Boys Basketball teams each finished 2nd in the Metro regular season and tournament
  • Our JJV Girls won the Metro Conference Championship in 2011, 2012 & 2013
