The Middle School
Nurturing the Spirit
Middle school (grades 6th-8th) at WCA is a time of exciting self-discovery. Students are in a period of change, and WCA partners with parents to navigate this unique time in a child's life. We see the middle school years as far more than a gap filler between lower and upper school, but a time of tremendous opportunity. The middle school program offers unique opportunities for students to develop strong academic and social skills necessary to excel throughout middle and upper school.
Academically, students are taught time management, organization skills, and study skills and are challenged in the classroom through age appropriate experiences that move from the concrete to the abstract.
Spiritually, weekly chapels and daily Bible classes, along with school supported service opportunities and activities reinforce biblical principles and values necessary to cultivate a godly character as well as contribute to the middle school and WCA community.
Middle school students have the opportunity to participate in athletics and extracurricular activities. In addition, middle school students enjoy a wide array of activities designed just for them! Activities include special middle school nights, tailgates at athletic events, an annual dodgeball tournament, and a Winter Ball.
Welcome from our Assistant Upper School Principal
Welcome to WCA’s Middle School! Thank you for visiting our site and we hope that our middle school section is informative and offers a true sense of who we are.
Middle school has long been known as the “Black Hole” of education; a necessary but painful gap that exists to transition kids from lower school to upper school. At Williamsburg Christian Academy, we could not disagree more! Our 6th through 8th-grade program is specifically designed to meet the academic, social, emotional, and spiritual needs of this unique age group. We believe that the middle school years are exciting ones, full of discovery and wonder. At WCA, kids are accepted for who God made them to be, and we know and celebrate every middle-schooler.
Our academic program combines cutting-edge research and innovative teaching with our trademark personalized learning system where every child and family is known and valued as a person as well as a student. Led by a dedicated teaching cohort, middle school classes are academically challenging, energetic, and Biblically based. They are also safe places where respect and courtesy are the norm. Kids and teachers share thoughts and ideas on a daily basis, all in the weighty but exciting pursuit of truth, growth, and knowledge through a Christian lens.
Feel free to contact either me with questions about our middle school program.
