WCA’s Cle’von Greene Named Daily Press’ Boys Peninsula Basketball Player of the Year

WCA Junior Cle’von Greene may want to think about getting a bigger trophy shelf. In addition to his already lofty accomplishments as a tourney MVP early in the season, and being named the VISAA Division 3 Boys basketball Player of the Year and Virginia Gazette POY for Williamsburg, Greene can add Daily Press Peninsula Player of the Year Honors to his resume – and the first private school player ever to accomplish the feat.

Greene put up 25.7 points, 9.5 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 3.1 steals in an exceptional 26-8 campaign for WCA. Under his leadership as team captain, WCA played their best basketball in the VISAA state tournament, besting opponents by an average of 30.6 points per game and including a 77-55 win over top-seeded Amelia Academy in the final. Amelia had twice beaten the Eagles in the regular season.

Cle’von has also reportedly been given a scholarship offer for basketball from George Mason University, per the Team Loaded 757 twitter feed.
