WCA Partners With Williamsburg Chamber of Commerce and Sentara Regional Medical Center In Business and Medical Explorers Programs

In another move to expand the extracurricular opportunities and offerings at Williamsburg Christian Academy, WCA announced that they are participating in the area Business and Medical Explorers programs sponsored by the Greater Williamsburg Chamber & Tourism Alliance and Sentara Regional Medical Center respectively. Both programs have the same vision:  To provide positive and meaningful real-world career experiences and leadership development opportunities for all teenagers and young adults in their chosen field of interest.

The program goals are to have participants gain practical experience in the career interest of the group, engage its participants in program activities centered on specific emphasis areas, allow them to experience positive leadership from adult and youth leaders, have the opportunity to take on leadership roles, and learn and grow in a supportive, caring and fun environment.

The emphasis during the sessions is placed on life skills, leadership, character building and citizenship, while at the same time allowing participants to explore career opportunities.  Each program meets monthly from 5:30-8:00PM, and each meeting has a free catered dinner provided by a local sponsor!

All WCA upper school students are encouraged to participate in either Business or Medical Explorers. There will be an interest meeting for students and parents to explain the details of each program on September 18th at 5:30PM at Warhill High School. RSVP is requested by Septemeber 15th so we can provide a head count to the Williamsburg Chamber of Commerce. If your student is interested in attending, please email College and Academic Counselor Addison Snyder at snydera@williamsburgchristian.org.
