Parent U Presents: Developing Grit & Character in Your Teenager- 12/4 @ 7PM

Last year was the inaugural year for Williamsburg Christian Academy’s interactive seminar series entitled Parent University, known as Parent U.  Parent U returns in 2017-2018 and is designed to offer parents of WCA students and members of the Williamsburg community a forum to hear from experts in fields of child development.  The goal is to empower parents with resources, tips, and a support network as they raise their children during these challenging times.  Each session will include a fact-filled information session as well as an open forum time, where parents will be able to ask questions and share past experiences and stories with one another.  All Parent U seminars take place on the WCA campus, run from 7:00-8:30 p.m., and are free and open to the public.

Our next Parent U is entitled Developing Grit & Character in Your Teenager. During this research-based forum, led by WCA’s Upper School Principal Beth Fletcher, we will discuss how to not only survive the teenage years but how to reduce anxiety and strengthen your child so they are prepared to leave home successfully. Current developmental brain studies along with critical information learned as a result of years of experience partnering with parents to raise good citizens will be shared. This is not just a talk for parents of teens, but more importantly for those with pre-teens or younger to get the info now to help you in the upcoming years! Please join us for this important session, and invite any parents in or outside of WCA to attend as well!

For more information about the seminars or the program in general, please send your questions to info@williamsburgchristian.org or call the school’s central office (757-220-1978).
