Why Donate to Williamsburg Christian Academy?

It's a constant struggle....supporting many causes, the dollar only stretches so far. Your support for any number of charitable causes may solve a problem now, and may even help put in place a process that will help mitigate a problem longer term, but does it impact many generations in the future? Do many other causes create a change of convictions required for the further growth in Christ and a community of souls committed to doing good works worldwide for the cause of Christ?

Support for Williamsburg Christian Academy helps us plant a seed of faith and a missionary mindset into the hearts and minds of our youth that lead them to a lifetime of good works and deeds in the name of Christ. Every dollar that is invested in the support of WCA is multiplied many times over in the building of the faith and Christian character of our many graduates, who then go out into the world and sow the seeds of a life lush with moral fiber and the desire to care for the poor and sick, aid those who have been stricken, and foster goodwill among all, as Christ has commanded us.

Williamsburg Christian Academy's tuition charges are set at such a level as to allow as many families as possible to enroll their children here and reap the rewards of a top notch Christ-centered college preparatory education, an amount that only covers between 60-75% of our total operating costs yearly. WCA relies heavily on its incredibly generous and growing list of donors to help us bridge the gap between our tuition pool and the full costs of operation.

Planting The Seed of a Life in Relationship With Christ

...with the Tools to Defend and Spread the Gospel.

Current Students, recent graduates, and alumni all echo the same sentiment when it comes to their time at WCA....that it planted a seed. This recent film describing the WCA Experience from the perspective of Alumni, Students young and old, parents, alumni and teachers provides a glimpse into what we see in our halls every day: the Holy Spirit hard at work molding our students so they can enter a world of ever-challenging spiritual confusion and emptiness, and help others discover and receive the salvation that is promised us all with a life committed to our Lord Jesus Christ.

For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

~Matthew 6:21

THE IMPORTANCE OF GIVING

The work of the Lord requires the talents and resources of His people. Each year, Williamsburg Christian Academy develops a budget which supports its mission and ministries. This work can only be accomplished through the tithes and offerings of the community. In addition to providing the financial needs of the school, giving is a vital part of all of our spiritual development and maturity. Giving requires two things of each of us: Faith and Faithfulness.

FAITH

Giving is an expression of our faith that affirms God as our provider and His ability to supply all that we need. We trust God by giving in faith. Our Lord promises to give every obedient Christian an overflowing, joyous life regardless of his financial position. Jesus told His followers, "I came that they might have life, and might have it abundantly."

FAITHFULNESS

Faithful giving is not always easy and can come with everyday challenges (growing family needs, fixed income for retirees, loss of a job, an unexpected major expense, saving for retirement, etc.). Faithful giving, based foremost on faith, requires several things which Christians must develop as they mature in Christ, including:

  • Proper intent for giving – giving is an act of worship to honor and glorify God (not ourselves) and to show our love for God. To truly trust God for your finances, you must also keep your heart and motives pure.
  • Good stewardship of our finances – budget within our means; systematic giving plan is included in our budget; careful use of credit cards, learning "how to afford" giving back to God, etc.
  • Giving from our heart that is done willingly, generously and cheerfully.
  • Giving at the beginning of the month instead of the end of the month – not literally but figuratively, i.e., we give from the bounty that God has provided not from what is leftover.
  • Caring nature for others – Follow Jesus’ command to "Love others as well as you love yourself."
Asking God to supply our needs – Faith requires action.

GIVING HONORS THE LORD

Giving is a part of our stewardship of the things that God has freely given to us and is a vital part of our spiritual development and maturity. In the Old Testament, God commanded His people to give a tithe (1/10) of their first fruits. Under the New Covenant, we have every gift of God’s provision including the gift of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Jesus commands us to give freely from the heart (Matt. 23:23). To support God’s work, Paul commands the NT church to "set aside as you have prospered" (1 Cor 16:2). In 2 Cor 8:8-9 and 9:6-8, Paul encourages joyful and generous giving "not of commandment or necessity but out of genuine love."
As your faith in God and His love and trustworthiness grows, you will learn to give according to the principles noted above. We learn to take God at His word to supply from His unlimited resources. You give as God supplies.

Virginia Education Improvement Scholarships Tax Credits Program

Wouldn't it be fantastic if you could take the taxes you owe to the state of Virginia, and donate them to WCA instead? Well, that option exists through the Virginia Department of Education's Educational Improvement Scholarship Tax Credit Program. This program, through the Children's Tuition Fund, allows individuals and businesses to donate to a qualified non-profit (e.g. WCA), and receive a tax credit of 65% of the donation. Combined with the standard charitable deduction on your federal return, the amount you donate could almost entirely come back to you in tax breaks!  The funds donated are applied 100% to scholarships allowing families in need to afford WCA. Do yourself (or your business) a favor, and explore this incredible way to donate to the WCA ministry.

The Edgar Randall Scholarship Program

Established in 2019, this scholarship fund was set up in remembrance of a great man and friend of WCA, Edgar Randall. Learn more about the life of Edgar Randall, and details about this scholarship you can help fund.
