WCA Drama Team Announces Spring Musical Title: “Finding Franklin”

After an incredibly successful and impressive first show last year, ‘How to Color Your Cardboard Box,’ the WCA Drama team has finally revealed the name of this year’s certain hit: ‘Finding Franklin.’ Due to the nature of each year’s production, which is conceived, produced and scripted by the students themselves under the leadership of Drama Teacher and Lower School Principal Cathy Naylor, the title is often not determined until well into the second semester. The name and the backstory are also kept tightly under wraps.

The new WCA Dinner Theatre production, created through the Fingerprint Productions Performing/Language Arts Program, is now well into their rehearsal run.  This year, in ‘Finding Franklin’, the team is developing a historical fiction-comedy, in which cast members will travel back through time with an old French artist and inventor, Henri, in search of American Founding Father and famous inventor Benjamin Franklin!  Along the way, the characters learn about this incredible American who was fascinating in every aspect of his life, sharing many of his brilliant ideas from the time he was a boy. The journey taken by the time travelers and their French artist-friend becomes quite an adventure, and allows them to see Franklin in a whole new light.  And they may even stumble upon some other famous Americans along the way…

‘Finding Franklin’ will hit the WCA Cafetorium stage for three shows on March 16th and 17th, so mark your calendars in preparation to catch a performance you cannot miss. Ticketing and show specifics will be forthcoming in the next few weeks. Join us on this fantastic journey through time!
